Why Reddall Fitness is different.

Louis Reddall, arms folded, in a black training top

At Reddall Fitness, my approach comes from years of working in the fitness industry and my own experience of rebuilding my relationship with food, exercise and confidence.

I started exercising at 12, when I was overweight, and later trained and competed in boxing. I experienced the commitment and demands of training at a high level, but I also struggled with disordered eating, an unhealthy relationship with exercise and psychological barriers that affected my performance.

After leaving boxing, my habits moved to the other extreme. My weight eventually went from around ten and a half stone to nineteen stone. Having experienced both extremes, I understand how challenging it can be to change your habits, find balance and feel comfortable in your own skin.

Those experiences shape how I coach today. I take the time to understand your starting point without judgement. Getting results takes more than a workout plan: it means developing confidence, realistic habits and a routine you can maintain alongside the rest of your life.

A patient approach, specialising in beginners.

Beginners are my speciality. I am extremely patient, and my experience working in a leisure centre, with families, first-time gym users and people of all abilities, has given me a deep understanding of how daunting exercise can feel when you are starting out.

I have helped clients who initially struggled to complete ten minutes of incline walking or five continuous minutes on a StairMaster progress to exercises they once thought were beyond them, including pull-ups and weighted barbell squats.

That progress happens step by step. I take time to explain each exercise, teach correct technique and build solid foundations before increasing the challenge. We work through the process in manageable phases, so you understand what we are working towards each week and month. From the beginning, I explain what consistent effort could help you achieve, while recognising that everyone progresses at their own pace.

Having guided hundreds of clients through this process, one of the most rewarding parts of my work is seeing someone grow from feeling unsure in the gym to confidently using equipment and applying what they have learned independently.

My goal is to help you recognise your potential and develop the knowledge and confidence to keep progressing. You can read about clients’ experiences and personal journeys in the Reddall Fitness Google reviews.

Practising what I preach.

I ask a lot of my clients, and more of myself. In 2024 I trekked to Everest Base Camp. In 2025 I trained for the Manchester Marathon to raise money for Siera, aged 8.

Then Ian wanted to go.

Ian saw my Base Camp photos and wanted his own route through Nepal’s mountains. He was 60, and he couldn’t do a single push-up or pull-up.

Eight months of training later, he made it. He wore the T-shirt.
